It will be interesting to see who they get, and how they do with this show, seeing that both GTSM and Tristar have shows the previous weekend (as well as another one going on in Boston with some decent names). They also just did their own show, so you can probably rule out any of those names from returning so soon, and CSA is also only about a month prior.
Fanatic's will have a few things working against them: including athletes/agents possibly not wanting to travel 2 weeks in a row, collectors not having as much $ to spend with the other major shows taking place the previous weekend, and the extra time it takes for their mail orders (gotta send to Florida, which they take to Chicago). For those with items with multiple signatures, their pieces can't be in the mail to Florida, if they are getting signed at one of the other shows the previous weekend.
Add to the fact, that both Tristar and GTSM are way ahead of them on the lineup announcements and the shows are only a few days apart. Many collectors likely already have plans for the GTSM or Tristar shows. I certainly do, and really have no left over $ to drop at this show, with everything else I have going on at once. I'm not on the edge of my seat, waiting for this lineup to be announced, as my plans for the Spring months are pretty much maxed out at this point.
From everything I heard, this past weekend's show sounded to be dead. Not too surprising, considering the lineup was lacking a real "wow factor", higher than average pricing and lots of other shows happening with several of the same signers in the same relative timeframe. One item of note...their website says mail order customers will not be charged until their item ships back to them. I was charged upon their receipt of my item in Florida (more than a week before the show). Makes me wonder why that is...were their advance ticket sales much lower than expected, and they needed an influx of cash to pay the athletes/promoters for their appearances ???
The Cubs are going to be their biggest draw, and it sounds like they are jamming them into Friday night. What about the rest of the weekend, will it be a show for a National audience, or just a local themed show (put on by a Florida based promoter) ? Sounds like Fanatic's may have set themselves up for 2 dissapointing shows in a row, within a few weeks of each other... -

My guess is they'll bring in some Class of 2017 HOF'ers. Some current NFL stars, Leveon Bell is suppose to be rescheduled for May. -

Totally agree with everything chopper just said. Going to be hard for me to really even look at this show in may. I like going to shows in person and being that it's in Chicago and I'm in ny already kills that. Already going to the shows for csa and gtsm within this month dropping money on guys like randy Johnson Rickey Henderson and ripken just poor timing. Their already one that charges more as well. I wish they would go to different cities like they used to. When they had the show in Philly with the Phillies reunion of Mike Schmidt pete rose sparky Lyle I went there and it was a great show I thought. It's a shame they won't try maybe nj for a show for yankees or Maryland for orioles or ravens. If they did a show with Ed reed ray Lewis Jamal Lewis I bet they would do really well. -

a question how did Joe Namath do at this event whit his car payment pricing? just wondering for future reference.....
and NO myself unless it is a huge hard to get name I will pass on this myself as I will have to save up on $$$ for football hall of fame week ...
April I have chiller CSA Hofstra and I think walker stalker or one of those things .... even thou I did miss Fanatics and white plains.. I caught up on other bills with those $$$
but also bought heavy on the Wheatland auction with a pitchers bat signed by Newhouser , Wheilem and Dryesdale ...
so odds are I'm will not have much to add to this event -

Namath's line was very long... I decided to go last and request a photo, he graciously agreed and we had about 3 minute conversation. One of my favorites. Regardless of pricing, Namath always sells and his prices are only going to increase.
I thought Fridays line up at Fanatics was a strong as I needed several HOFers. I like the Moss, Rison and Dawkins adds. Overall it was a great show for myself.
May... tbd although I agree with Chopper as I'm going to be tapped out on cash after GTSM. -

It would be interesting to see what a Fanatics show in NY or NJ would look like. I mean that from a line up stand point. Maybe they don't come her because of the shows we already get but I would love to see what kind of show they would put together. Anyone know why they don't come to NY/NJ? -

I don't know for sure why they stick to Chicago these days, but I am guessing they possibly feel the East Coast is already saturated with the other major shows, as you suggest.
Chicago is a nice Central point of the Country to set up shop, but I imagine most of their attendees are MidWesterners as opposed to East Coasters. Not much reason for us East Coasters to trek out to a Fanatic's show, too far to drive and not likely worth the expense of a flight. Mail orders of course work for everyone, but as I mentioned above, they can sometimes handicap their own mail order system with scheduling and the inefficiency of having items sent to Florida and transported to Chicago.
I did a mail order for Moss this past show. Never even considered driving 10 hours each way, or getting a flight, to be there in person.
If 2 or all 3 of their shows this year underwhelm, who knows, maybe they will make some changes next year. I could see them setting up in Florida or somewhere like Atlanta or Charlotte before trying to creep back into the Northeast though. Just my opinion... -

Fanatics Spring and Summer is no comparison to their November show. Even when it was Mounted Memories the major draw was November. I was told they make more money in the back from vendors then from individual autograph sales. I've been in the back and I believe it. For example, Randy Moss was about 250 when my buddy went almost last and there were more than 250 helmets from vendors in the back. Not including jerseys, flats and footballs. Just my .02 -

Now that you mention it, I actually had a somewhat difficult time getting a Vikings mini helmet right after Moss was announced for the show. None of the eBay wholesalers could get them directly from Riddell because "an autograph firm purchased all in stock quantities". So that goes along with what you were saying.
I do remember the November lineup being a bit better, but unfortunately I am always out of Town for around 10 days, during that time so can't really even do a mail order (as it could end up sitting on my porch for a few days). I attended the last Fanatics Philly show and thought they did a great job. Nice crowd and venue.
I'm also disappointed that's fanatics stopped traveling. Even more troublesome, they do not have a Canton date on their website for hall of fame weekend.
With the Cubs owning Friday, I'm hoping for a football heavy lineup with guys like Warner leading the pack. If I could get Warner and one other guy from my list, I'd consider taking the flight. All in all, Fanatics does a rock solid job and I'm happy to support them if the lineup fits my needs. They better start shaking a leg though cause May is right around the corner -

HOF website lists Fanatics autograph signings from 12:00-2:00 on August 5. Guests will be announced closer to the date. -
